Robert Webb: Well, I could have gone out with you, looking for women before I was married. David Mitchell: You were in a long term relationship. Robert: Before her. David: You were in a long term relationship. Robert: Before her. David: You were in a long term relationship. Robert: Before him. David: You were in a long term relationship. Robert: They weren't a long term relationship! David: Still didn't talk to me much. Robert: Allright, they didn't count. Before them. David: Before them, we hadn't met! Wed, Jun. 17th, 2009, 11:01 pm
Feeling kind of sick today, a bit of a headache, tiredness (I went to bed early last night and intended to get up at 9, got up at 12) and dizziness, plus I didn't particularly feel like eating much of my lunch. So I was thinking I was coming down with the flu (not the swine flu... it occured to me I might have been but I don't know how I could possibly have caught it unless Alina or Woot happened to be a carrier.)
Turns out to be a false alarm, I ate a couple of mandarins (Which I had been craving all day but the ones I bought from countdown on friday had already started to rot by sunday so I have still got to go back to them to get a refund, thats the last time I buy produce from them especially since when I was there with Tom and Lisa and Tom said "Oooh, those things should not be out of the refridgeration unit" (He used to work in the produce section of a supermarket)) and my dizziness was probably from lack of eating properly. That or the vitamin C from the mandarins fought off the cold/flu very very well. Mon, May. 4th, 2009, 11:41 am
What is it about winter that makes people (on busses/in my lectures) neglect personal hygiene? Is it because 1/4 the population have colds so can't smell anything and they think they can get away with it? Sat, May. 2nd, 2009, 12:43 am

was tragically cut short by wolves. It didn't help that they waylaid me and I didn't know what the attack button was. At one point I actually bit one of the wolves on the tail. ( Read more... ) Sun, Apr. 26th, 2009, 11:41 pm

For any flight of the conchords fans out there, at 8.30 on Prime tonight (monday) there is a documentary on them, and the first episode of season 2 starts showing at 9.30.
Black books is showing before the flight of the conchords documentary and father ted is before that... I think I know where my monday nights have just gone!
And its the black books episode where manny is hyper on coffee and a policeman!
Aliens vs. Predator vs. Terminator TPB Centuries from now, a reawakened and deadlier Skynet is creating invincible Terminator/Alien hybrids. Earth's only chance lies in the hands of a legendary heroine named Ripley and... the Predators?! Mon, Mar. 2nd, 2009, 08:23 pm
This is a delicious semi-meal thing, and I realised its basically what I've been craving for the whole day, since breakfast, pretty much. The only thing I could do to improve it would be to add some jalapenos and maybe a little bit of salsa. Possibly some cheese and/or sour cream.
100g long grain rice 40g refried beans 1 whole tomato ~1/4 avocado
cook the rice, mix through the refried beans and the tomato and avocado with the cooked rice, and just eat it as is. You could add cooked mince or chicken, but as it is this is a relatively delicious and cheapish meal. Sun, Mar. 1st, 2009, 03:03 pm

So there is this game called 'Excuses' I believe it is Lisa's game, and we took it over to the LFoD and played it a little...
Basically it works like this. There are 30 situation cards, and 60 excuse cards. A situation card is played from the top of the pack, and everyone has to pick the best excuse to fit the situation. Then everyone votes on which one is best.
Example: Situation: ANGRY WIFE TO HUSBAND: "Its 3am and you're drunk!" people play the excuses: "I can't answer that question without first consulting with my lawyers" "Don't blame me, I was born this way!" "Its an experiment" "Fuck you, I'm a dragon" (all the others except this one are actual excuse cards in the game, roughly)
I was thinking, we could make our own excuses. Suggestions here. Also suggestions for possible situations. Wed, Dec. 24th, 2008, 11:09 pm
Yummy stuff I made in the last few days:
Chocolate-rum truffles: Huge amounts of chocolate put into tiny bite sized pieces. Conclusion: Easy to make, incredibly rich, and delicious. Wouldn't want to eat many of them, though.
Chocolate Fudge: Required some patience to work out properly but was so worth it. I'll have to make some more.
Russian Fudge: Also very delicious, more difficult to make than the chocolate fudge but more worth it, I think. Turned out more squishy and less hard than the chocolate, perhaps because I didn't boil it as long, perhaps just because of the increased amount of liquid in it compared to the chocolate fudge. The Condensed milk started to burn at one point which gave me a fright, but it fortunately wasn't the sugar burning and didn't ruin the flavour.
Gooseberry Shortcake: Mmm, haven't tasted it yet but we'll be eating it tomorrow. Very little sugar in in, besides the natural sugar in gooseberries. Should be quite tart which will be a welcome change. I wonder how well it goes with Dessert wine? Wed, Dec. 17th, 2008, 05:53 pm
From the Dwarf Fortress dev log where he is testing it after re-coding the materials/stones/metals/plants.
Okay, there are dwarves walking around, though it's next to the wagon with the equipment that immediately explodes into clouds of boiling bronze while the dwarves flash between the dwarf and bar symbol wearing no-material clothes, but there are dwarves walking around.
So the equipment spontaneously sublimes into clouds of boiling bronze. The dwarves don't mind! Thu, Dec. 11th, 2008, 02:10 pm
So I went to disconnect our phone/internet, expecting there to be a $99 disconnection fee.... But it turns out we connected to the internet this time last year (well, the 11th) so the guy said he wasn't going to charge us the disconnection fee. The person who said we connected on the 27th must have been looking at the first bill we paid, or something. Also: I saw a poster for that new Twilight Movie. It looks like it would be, like, really cool. Sounds like it has a very interesting and introspective story that plumbs the depths of humanity itself. Anyone interested in going to see it? I think I'll dress up as a vampire for it. *trolls friendlist*
